Mudik ke Bondowoso Via Japanan
Acara mudik dalam setahun kadang dua kali kadang tiga kali. Demikian ini dilakukan karena Ibunda sudah sangat sepuh. Sudah sering kangen, dan tiba-tiba meminta saya sekeluarga mudik ke Bondowoso.
Mudiknya tergantung keadaan. Umumnya saya atur di sekitar Hari Raya Idul Fitri dan Maulid Nabi saw, sedang waktu selainnya menunggu kapan Ibu meminta saya pulang. Ketika Idul Fitri, saya biasanya membawa mobil sendiri, dan saya supiri sendiri. Sedang ketika Maulid Nabi kadang saya dengan anak-anak dan kadang sendirian, tergantung sikon. Sedang waktu yang mendadak, umumnya saya mudik sendiri, baik dengan ngebis ataupun –kalau mendadak– bisa juga dengan naik pesawat.
Pada waktu Jalan Lancar
Pada waktu perjalanan lancar, saya biasa mudik melalui Pantura. Umumnya membawa kendaraan sendiri, kadang juga naik bus. Untuk lelancaran perjalanan, jika melalui utara, bisa melintasi jalan Sedayu – Surabaya. Meringkas sekitar 50 km. Pulangnya, opsi tergan tung baiknya jalan, bisa lewat Sedayu atau lewat Lamongan Tuban.
Melewati Pantura biasanya lebih lancar dan lebih cepat, karena tidak melintasi rel kereta api, dan jalannya umumnya sudah lebar. Berbeda dengan ketika melewati Selatan. Selain melintasi rel Kereta Api di beberapa tempat, juga banyak jalan yang tidak bisa menyalip, seperti yang diberlakukan di Ngawi dan Saradan. Kalau tidak hati-hati — jika nyalip — bisa terkena denda lalu lintas.
Melintasi Japanan
Melintasi Selatan, perjalanan relatif lamban. Selain tidak bisa melintasi tol, melalui Selatan berhadapan dengan 3 kendala kecepatan. Itupun sudah melalui Japanan. Pertama, melintasi rel Kereta Api hampir bisa dipastikan memakan waktu. Kedua, jalan yang tidak bisa sepenuhnya nyalip, karena ada yang diberi markah sampai keloan meter. Ketiga, tidak adanya tol seperti jurusan Semarang Solo.
Untung ada jalan Japanan, yang bisa dilakui pulang pergi. Dilanjutkan dengan ke Pasuruan. Proses ini lebih lancar dan memudahkan melintasinya.
Maka melalui jalanan manapun, kita tetap bisa melintasinya sepanjang ada pendamping yang selalu bisa diajak bicara bagi melintasi jalur yang kita pilih. Semoga sukses (Erf.).
