Tentu ia berkesempatan dapat nominasi terbaik, begitulah berdasarkan nilai cumlaude yang diperolehnya. Karena dibandingkan dengan nomor lulusan lainnya, Nora berada di rengking atas.
Namun, entah mengapa, Nora pada tahun ini nominasinya tidak tuntas. Awalnya, dikabarkan dapat nominasi, lalu datang berita agak buram katanya hanya medapat nomor 3 walau nilainya di atas yang menduduki rangking nomor 1.
Menyimak hal yang demikian, Nora rupanya bisa mengendalikan diri. Kita kuliah itu bukan untuk memperebutkan nilai tertinggi, melainkan untuk menjadi pembelajar yang benar dan baik. Penulis skripsi tentang Pembelaan Perempuan ini, sedari awal cukup dengan mengelus-elus dada, sebab ketentuan akademik yang diterimanya sudah ditentukan di dalam surat undangan yang diterimanya. Yang jelas, tekad untuk menjadi pelajar yang suka dan sadar belajar adalah tugas pelajar yang bermartabat. Sekolahnya tidak pernah tamat. Dia harus terus belajar, tidak boleh berhenti, sebab selama dia belajar maka dia masih menjadi orang pandai, namun begitu dia berhenti belajar maka sudah hingga di situ saja dia tolok ukur kepintarannya.
